Pensions Project Team Leader

Our Private Client and Corporate Services team works with our clients and their advisers, providing an efficient, informed and personal service. We provide a fast-paced, rewarding environment and opportunities to work with a variety of global clients across all major asset classes.

Role overview

To lead a review of the current book of business through a series of micro-projects to ensure regulatory alignment with the current pension regulations, corporate governance and tax requirements. The postholder will help enhance policies and procedures to ensure we maintain high quality pension administration services to existing and potential clients. 

Job accountabilities

Project management including supervision and oversight of any junior members of the team:

  • Project management
  • Review of current files in liaison with in-house legal and external legal and tax advisors to create a suite of documents and procedures for the management of the contracts
  • Review of current book of business to ensure managed in line with the contract review
  • New business procedures for client take-on including system set up reviewed and updated
  • Review and ensure pension contracts are reporting is up to date
  • Review and assessment of bespoke asset classes
  • Review and adoption of new investment monitoring process to include review of current book and drafting of policies and procedures
  • Drafting of minutes, agreements and/or documents to support any amendments required following legal and tax review of contracts
  • Preparation of reports and information to report on regulatory alignment project progress
  • Understanding and supporting Board with regulatory and legislative requirements and ensuring our policies and procedures align with these changes
  • Escalate any risks to the Board
  • Management of any support administration

Minimum education and experience

  • Educated to ‘A’ Level standard, or equivalent
  • A minimum of six years’ relevant experience
  • Attainment of a relevant professional qualification
  • Extensive experience in a fiduciary environment

Preferable but not essential

  • Experience of running a regulatory project
  • Experience of file remediation within the trust or pension realm

Required skills

  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships in accordance with Praxis standards
  • Demonstrated ability of managing a team/project
  • Strong and effective negotiation skills
  • Excellent critical analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines independently
  • Effective business writing skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Pension Schemes
