Praxis announces sponsorship of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award in Malta

Praxis is supporting the development of Malta's young people with a three-year commitment of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award.

The Award is part of a global non-formal education programme supporting young people aged 14–24 to develop essential life skills, broaden their experiences and build confidence. Established in 1956 by HRH Prince Philip, Kurt Hahn and Lord Hunt, it now operates in more than 120 countries and has been active in Malta for over 60 years.

Delivered by the National Award Operator (NAO) through a network of licensed centres, including schools, youth organisations, sports associations and NGOs across Malta and Gozo, around 500 Maltese are currently taking part, with participants encouraged to take on personal challenges in service, skills, physical activity, adventurous journeys, and – at Gold level – a residential project.

Patrick Spiteri, Managing Director of Praxis' Trust & Corporate services in Malta, said: “This is an excellent initiative that makes a lasting impact on young people’s lives.” and James King, Managing Director of our Pensions & Employer Solutions in Malta, added: “We see real value in supporting opportunities that help the next generation develop resilience, purpose and self-belief – qualities that will serve them well in any walk of life.”

Adrian Farrugia, National Director for The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Malta commented: "Thanks to Praxis' generous sponsorship, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Malta is now more accessible than ever. The support of our sponsors enables us to offer the Award free of charge to participants across Malta and Gozo, opening doors for young people from all backgrounds to benefit from this life-changing experience. Praxis is helping us build a more resilient, capable and confident generation."

The partnership reflects one of the Group’s core values, We Succeed Together, and underscores Praxis’ ongoing commitment to supporting its local communities.

Praxis Malta delivers a comprehensive range of pensions and employer solutions, private wealth, corporate administration and yacht ownership services to EU and international clients. The Group has had a presence in Malta since 2008 and employs over 40 staff in the region.
