Praxis strengthens Asia leadership to support international families and cross-border governance needs

Praxis has strengthened its leadership team in Asia with the appointment of Tom Zierer as Senior Executive Director and the promotion of Cindy Cheng to Regional Head of Growth & Business Development Asia.

These developments reflect continued investment in the region and a long-term strategy focused on supporting international families, family offices and corporate clients with increasingly complex cross-border structuring and governance requirements.

Tom Zierer relocated from Guernsey to Hong Kong SAR in 2025. Having joined Praxis in 2013, he brings extensive experience advising clients on succession planning, governance and long-term wealth preservation. He works closely with families and corporate clients to design and implement structures that provide clarity, continuity and control across multiple jurisdictions.

In his new role, Tom leads a team of 14 multilingual specialists in Hong Kong, working closely with colleagues in the British Virgin Islands, the Middle East and the Channel Islands to deliver coordinated solutions, particularly where clients require consistent governance and oversight across multiple jurisdictions.

Commenting on the move, Tom said: “Asia continues to play a central role in the global wealth landscape. Families here are increasingly international in outlook, with complex cross-border considerations. Being based in Hong Kong allows us to work more closely with clients and their advisers, providing the clarity and continuity they should expect.”

Alongside Tom’s appointment, Cindy Cheng has been promoted to Regional Head of Growth & Business Development Asia. Based in Hong Kong, she leads Praxis’ growth strategy across the region, with a focus on strengthening intermediary relationships and coordinating client engagement across Asia and the Group’s international network.

Cindy said: “My focus is on building strong, trusted relationships across the region and ensuring clients and intermediaries can access the full breadth of our global expertise in a coordinated and effective way.”

Together, these appointments reinforce Praxis’ on-the-ground leadership in Hong Kong, where it has supported private wealth structures since 2007, and reflects a more integrated approach to client service and business development.

Hong Kong remains a key international financial centre, valued by international families for its robust regulatory environment, deep professional services ecosystem and strong connectivity with mainland China and the wider region. For families and businesses with cross-border interests, it provides an effective base from which to coordinate structures spanning Asia and international jurisdictions.

Robert Fearis, Chief Executive Officer, said: “Asia remains a dynamic and strategically important market both for international families and for Praxis. Tom’s relocation and Cindy’s promotion strengthen both our leadership and our ability to support clients across jurisdictions.

“Clients are increasingly looking for structures that provide stability, strong governance and long-term certainty. Our presence in Hong Kong, alongside our established global offices, enables us to deliver that with consistency and confidence.”
