Support and experience on offer with PraxisIFM Bursary

PraxisIFM is now welcoming applications from Guernsey-resident prospective university students for its annual PraxisIFM Bursary Award.

The scheme which will be entering its fourth year will once again offer a local student the opportunity to receive a 2500 annual bursary over any three-year degree and to get relevant financial services experience through paid summer work.

According to the admissions service UCAS a survey found that two thirds of employers look for graduates with relevant work experience believing that the experience helps prepare them for work and develops general business awareness.

Group Head of Human Resources Sharon Coburn said the bursary is a great opportunity to experience a variety of work across a range of areas. 'The scheme gives students the chance to explore the financial services industry and the range of roles available while at the same time completing their degree and developing their individual interests and desired career direction further.' said Sharon.

Last year's recipient Sophie de Garis a former Ladies' College student is now a Psychology undergraduate at Surrey University.

'I am so grateful to have received the generous bursary from PraxisIFM. It has really supported me through my first year at university giving me that little bit more independence and helping hugely with the expenses of university life.

'I am also really looking forward to experiencing office life at PraxisIFM and the different roles within it' said Sophie. 'I would highly recommend applying for the bursary because not only is the financial benefit extremely helpful when at university the opportunities that PraxisIFM provide you with enhances skills needed for life and university and in the future.'

Applicants who are interested in the Bursary will need to provide a full CV along and complete the online submission form by 17 July 2020.
